The Department of Neurological Surgery at Indiana University Health, Indiana University School of Medicine and Riley Children's Hospital is seeking a Chief for the Division of Pediatric Neurosurgery. The Division Chief must be prepared to lead collaborative multi-disciplinary clinical, education and research efforts in all aspects of pediatric neurosurgery. Strategic initiatives are ongoing in epilepsy and neurooncology for Riley Children's Hospital and the newly formed IU Neuroscience Institute will be supportive of growth and innovation in these and several other areas.Responsibilities in this role include providing oversight and mentorship of the pediatric neurosurgical faculty for clinical quality, professional development and scientific rigor, working with the Neuroscience Institute leadership and the Chair to grow programs and conduct outreach inside and outside of the state and region and potentials for leadership roles and/or a joint appointment as Vice Chair for Education, Vice Chair for Research, or Vice Chair for Quality for the Department should the candidate have this interest.Other responsibilities include brining professionals with different background together to build upon high-quality existing programs, promoting DE&I within the division and contributing academically across the system.Qualifications:

  • Academic productivity in the form of ongoing research funding and a track record of consistent high-level publications is sought
  • Completion of an ACGME-accredited neurological residency and an ACPNF-accredited pediatric neurosurgery fellowship
  • ABNS certification
  • Additional certification in pediatric neurosurgery by ABNS and ABPNS
