qualified CVOR RN in Fort Wayne, Indiana, 46845 About The Position
Job Title: Registered Nurse (RN) Job Specialty: Operating Room (OR)
Job Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 12-hour days Guaranteed Hours: 36
hours per week Experience: Minimum 2 years of Cardiovascular
Operating Room (CVOR) experience License: Active Indiana or compact
RN license Certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced
Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), both American Heart Association
(AHA) only Must-Have: Previous experience assisting anesthesia (or
willingness to be trained) Job Description: - Ability to circulate
all open chest cases and assist in procedures like swan, a-line,
TEE, and labs - Assists with anesthesia as part of the
responsibilities - Utilization of equipment such as EPIC charting,
I-Stat, TEE, and warming/cooling units - Required to take call
approximately once every 7-10 days for weekdays/nights and full
weekend call every 5-6 weeks - Will work with another RN for all
chest cases and single circulating for vascular cases - May be
required to float to core side if needed---general, orthopedic, or
neurological units - The department comprises 4 cardiovascular
operating rooms plus a hybrid and 13 core operating rooms -
Nurse-to-patient ratio will depend on acuity, generally 1-2 nurses
- Dress code requires covering cloth cap and bouffant, no rings,
fake nails or nail polish, and large earrings; necklaces must be
tucked - Orientation includes Jumpstart; basic nursing/EPIC
training over 2-3 days in OR, with 1-2 additional days before
working independently This role provides an opportunity to work in
a dynamic and supportive environment where ongoing training and
development are key. Candidates must be comfortable with learning
